Hills Make You Stronger

 

What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger. This is my motto this week in my running. 🙂

Monday my cross country team and I mapped out a new 5k course to incorporate some hills into our running since our 1st cross country meet almost killed us. Wait. I mean it made us stronger. Yeah, that’s it! 🙂

Our 1st meet was in Beauregard, AL. Now let me tell you-those folks were friendly. I should have known something was up. The friendliness was evidently a cover up for what they were about to do to us! That course was haaaaard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish we would have gotten a picture of the hill that killed us. I mean the one that made us stronger. 🙂

Do you know what a plateau is? I think that’s what it was. Talk about steep sides!!!

So getting back to our new course we will be training on. We put 7 hills in it. They are pretty good hills. Hopefully, this will better prepare us for the courses that we will be running on in the meets. So, what doesn’t kill us WILL make us stronger. I hope. 🙂
