I was just reading about Reading Doors today! TOTALLY want to do this. Right now I’m having a hard enough time finding time to actually READ, though, that making a door about it is still some ways down the road. I am inspired by the fact that you can do this, though. You are an amazing lady, Ms. Clark. 🙂
Jen,
Yeah but you have young children- mine aren’t anymore! 🙂
I love your door. What an inspiration to your pupils, there is nothing children like more than a little healthy competition.
Cleopatra,
And they can’t believe how much I read! 🙂 I tell them I take a book with me everywhere just in case!
I love the reading door idea. You have motivated me, so I am sure it motivates students!
Thanks, Mary! The easy part is reading. The hardest part is remembering to add it to my door! Lol!
I am totally doing this! I have done a bulletin board with my summer reading but I love this for current reading. What a great thing for students (and teachers) to see! What do you have at the bottom of the door?
Krista-
At the bottom is where I put generic cards for the YA and adult books I read. Didn’t think my 6th graders needed to know those titles. 🙂
Great idea!!! I should do this… Now, how will I find the time?
Lol!!! You could just keep a chart with the book titles instead of printing out the book covers??
I love the idea of a Reading Door! The door itself is almost like the “book cover” of the room 😀
I love hearing from you. Let's have a conversation! Cancel reply
