I’ve always prayed in the mornings. (And throughout my day) But you know how it goes- pray in the shower, while driving, laying in bed.
Multi tasking I should say.
So my alone time with God hasn’t been too alone.
I’m making a commitment to Him to spend some real alone time with Him in the mornings before my day begins.
So I’m using Sarah Young’s devotional Jesus Calling. And I must say it is fabulous!!! It’s written like Jesus is talking to me. And I love that.
I’m also trying to write the scriptures that go with each day’s devotion. And I love that.
How do you spend your alone time with God each day?
I created a new blog that will be dedicated to my walk with God. You know. If you’re interested in reading something else in your “spare” time. 🙂
Do you own a bible?
How often do you read it?
Have you ever ready the entire bible?
I just started reading the bible back in March when I rededicated my life to Christ. I think I’ve read 11 books of the bjble so far.
I want to read the entire Bible in 2015, and have seen some reading plans.
I think I’m going to just start at the beginning and read all the way to the end.
A little over 3 chapters per day or about 22 each week.
Pretty doable. I think. 🙂
Yep- the year of 2015 will be a year of all sorts of challenges or goals for me. I’ll post more about that later.
Look at the BEST present I’ve ever received from my hubby.
Merry Christmas from him to me. 2014-2035. 🙂
I drove a corolla for 11 years and a Camry for 11 years. It. Was. Time. 🙂
So grateful and thankful!
Mary was rejoicing and only wanted to glorify God. She was feeling so blessed. God chose HER to bring into the world a baby boy who would be our magnificent Savior!!
Mary had to have faith. But Joseph had to have FAITH. 🙂
Even when an angel appeared to Joseph to inform him of this new situation it was in a dream, not when he was awake.
How many of us “believe” our dreams?
The bible is FULL of people with little faith and big faith. The bible is FULL of people just like me and you.
God had a plan for Mary and Joseph. He also has a plan for us. 🙂
I think about the faith that Mary had to have. And then I think about Joseph! WOW!
Lord, I believe. But help my unbelief!
This is my 1st time linking up with Holly at Reading, Teaching, Learning for her Spiritual Journey Thursday link up.
Her post today is about looking to the eternal instead of the external in reference to beauty. Mine is completely different.
I wasn’t going to take the time to post, because I’m headed to the hayfield. BUT after my morning devotion there was no way I could NOT post! 🙂
My devotion this morning was about being like a child and trusting Jesus.
My devotion this morning:
Comes from this book:
So I read the devotion, read the scripture, and prayed.
Then as I was perusing Facebook, what did I come across?
HE reaffirms EVERYTHING FOR ME ALL THE TIME!!!
I see God in everything I do now. He is with me at all times. I am full of joy because of him.
And THAT is my Spiritual Journey Thursday y’all! 🙂
Have a great and joy filled Thursday!
I’m SURE this NEVER happens in your family. Having to be at 87 different places for the holidays? 🙂
Our 3 kids are now living on their own. They’re not married yet (thank goodness) :), but it’s still hard to get everyone together for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Last year we decided to do a Christmas breakfast on Christmas morning so the rest of the day they could either be with us or with other family. We’re doing it again this year. But in reality, how long will this new tradition last? What about when they DO get married? Have kids?
Yes, we all go through this. So here’s a little encouragement for you during this time of JOYOUS STRESS. 🙂
I’ve subscribed to a site that offers daily encouragement for women from the bible. (Men can benefit, too). 🙂 PROVERBS 31 MINISTRY
This one soothed my soul.
