Nothing like going backwards! I have now uploaded the Unit 4 study guides in both word and pdf format to the unit 4 pages.
Unit 6 will be done sometime next week-unless I have time tomorrow! 🙂

Unit 5 Study Guides DONE!
Sorry that it has taken me so long to get some of this stuff done and posted!!!! I just uploaded the study guides for Unit 5 (all 5 weeks) to their appropriate pages. I uploaded the word and pdf documents in case you couldn’t open the word ones.
I will now be diligently working on Units 4 and 6!!
My life has been crazy busy and full lately. I started running back at the 1st of January and have run a 5k in Feb. and will run another one this Sunday. I have lost a total of 27 pounds off of my 5’1 frame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, that is where my focus has been.
And just to throw another kink into all of this-I WILL NOT BE TEACHING READING/LANGUAGE ARTS NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!
I will be teaching 5th and 6th grade science! Well, I will be teaching English to my homeroom, but the 4 of us teachers are just going to use the workbooks, and the lesson will only be about 15 minutes long.
So my world is about to turn upside down!!! And I actually asked for it! I just needed a change. 🙂 So now for those of you who teach science-I NEED HELP!!! 🙂 I’ll be calling on you!
Buffalo Soldiers
Our story this week is Black Frontiers which tells the story of how sharecroppers moved north to get out of debt back in the 1800s. It describes the obstacles they faced in trying to settle on free soil as pioneers. The African-American soldiers were named “Buffalo Soldiers” by the Indians which they wore as a badge of honor. I found this video by Bob Marley on youtube which my kids last year loved. And kept singing over and over. 🙂 One student last year even said she couldn’t get the tune out of her head and was singing it at home. 🙂

Uploaded vocabulary
I might spell this entire post incorrectly because my eyes are crossed from doing these vocabulary words and uploading them! 🙂
All of the units (1-6) vocabulary word cards have been uploaded for Reading Street. Whew….
Somebody has already suggested I do a cloze vocabulary activity for each week-if you have any other things that you want me to do (try) just leave me a comment!, e
This is what’s in the works for the near future: powerpoints for each week (more like a teacher guide to keep you on task) 🙂 and a week at a glance sheet for you to be able to see the STUFF that you need to cover, etc.
